Pediatrician, child sleep consultancy with a focus on secure attachment and respectful parenting

I focus on the Parent-Child Relationship and support parents in their capacity for attunement. Individualized parent coaching sessions are designed to support parents with young children aged one through six, and they are centered in supporting parents in how to create and enhance the parent-child relationship, otherwise know as the attachment relationship. Parents will uncover their strengths and inner resources, and build upon their skills through coaching sessions to best support their child's holistic development through qualities such as presence, playfulness, acceptance, curiosity, and empathy. I also teach parents with newborns (0-12 months) the art of infant massage.

Supports parents to help decrease their stress and overwhelm, identify barriers to parenting, and navigate modern day pressures to be able to build strong connections with their children.

Jan Hunt, B.A. Psychology, M.Sc. Counseling Psychology, is the Director of the Natural Child Project, an attachment parenting/unschooling counselor, and a member of the Board of Directors of the CSPCC (Canadian Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children). She is also a member of the advisory boards of Holistic Moms Network, Child-Friendly Initiative, and Attachment Parenting International. Jan is the author of The Natural Child: Parenting From the Heart and the bilingual children's picture book A Gift for Baby, and co-edited The Unschooling Unmanual with her always-unschooled son, Jason.
